ENERI (Enhancing Nutrition, Exercise and Reading Initiative)

Enhancing Nutrition, Exercise and Reading Initiative

The ENERI project exists to impact the lives of younger generation with the necessary building blocks they need for a successful tomorrow.

These building blocks include:

1. Nutrition

2. Exercise

3. Reading

We reach out to children in need with:

1. A school feeding program, which will help to improve their nutritional status,

2. Supply of age appropriate reading materials to improve the students’ literary skills,

3. Provision of play equipment to encourage a more fun and educative play time, and

4. A behavioral change campaign to teach the community and students on the importance of the above mentioned components.

Public School Revival Initiative (PSRI)

At Create That Change Development Initiative (CCDI), we know that a child’s environment shapes how they learn, grow, and dream. That’s why we created the Public School Revival Initiative (PSRI)—a movement to transform forgotten schools into places full of dignity, joy, and possibilities.

Through PSRI, we’re rolling up our sleeves and tackling the basics that make a world of difference:

  • Renovation and furnishing Libraries that spark curiosity and open doors to knowledge.
  • Construction and/or renovation of Toilet facilities to protect children’s health and dignity.
  • Providing Desks that give pupils a place to sit, write, and learn in comfort.
  • Repairs and renovations that turn crumbling classrooms into welcoming spaces for learning.

PSRI is more than bricks, books, and paint. It’s about children walking into school with their heads held high, knowing their learning environment can become a place where their dreams come true.

Every library refurbished, every desk placed, every toilet built/restored whispers the same message to our children: you matter, your future matters, and we believe in you.

Desk a School Initiative

As part of CCDI’s commitment to improving schools in Nigeria, we have donated 25 desk sets to LEA Primary School, Kabusa, Abuja —a step toward creating a better learning environment for students.

This initiative was born out of the reading component of our ENERI program. While working alongside the Embassy of Switzerland to renovate and equip school libraries, we made a shocking discovery: most students were forced to sit on the floor during lessons due to a severe shortage of desks. This lack of proper seating creates a challenging learning environment, making it harder for students to focus and thrive.

With an enrolment of over 2,000 students, our dream is to furnish every classroom with proper desks. Will you help us make this dream a reality?

ENERI Start Smart September

ENERI Start Smart September

Start Smart September—a focused back-to-school intervention designed to uplift vulnerable public school students by equipping them with the tools, support, and confidence needed to begin the academic year with purpose and dignity.

Each year, many children are forced to stay home at the start of school due to financial constraints faced by their families. Start Smart September directly addresses this challenge by providing carefully selected students (children of single parents and orphans) with a comprehensive school supply kit, which includes:

  • School fees and PTA levies,
  • Uniforms,
  • Sports wears,
  • School bag,
  • Socks and sandals,
  • Sports shoes,
  • Books and stationery,
  • Water bottle.
